In a significant blow to the NLRB’s enforcement priorities, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Starbucks v. McKinney effectively raises the standard for federal courts issuing injunctions under section 10(j) of the National Labor Relations Act. In a recent incident, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's behavior on the House Oversight Committee has sparked a heated debate. Greene's attempt to discredit Rep. Jasmine Crockett's contributions to the committee by attacking her appearance was met with a sharp rebuke from Chairman James Comer.Crockett, in a bid to clarify the rules of engagement, asked if a similar personal attack on a committee member would be acceptable. Her question was met with silence, leading to speculation that Comer was reluctant to reprimand Greene. The incident has sparked a wave of support for Crockett, with many praising her quick wit and ability to stand up for herself. It has also raised questions about the committee's ability to maintain decorum and ensure productive debate. What are your thoughts on this incident? Do you believe that Greene's behavior is indicative of a broader trend in politics, or is it an isolated incident? At first (or even second) glance, you might not think of similarities between Donald J. Trump and Jake Paul.In a new piece in Newsweek, Amplify's Chief Strategy Officer, Aron Solomon, argues that the common thread that binds these men and, could link their trajectory, is rage. 🔥🔥[🔗]https://buff.ly/451rFa2#JakePaul #MikeTyson #DonaldTrump #NewsWeek #PoliticalNews #News #Politics #LegalNews #Marketing #LegalMarketing #Lawyer

While I do think they should have disclosed their relationship and that it's probably best to recuse themselves, the outrageous questions about whether Wade "visited you where you laid your head" was insulting and meant to humiliate her. The questions were blatant attacks that are often used to undermine the credibility and professionalism of Black women even when their non-Black counterparts engage in similar behavior without repercussion. Unfortunately these unfair attacks often revolve around three strategies:1. Attempts to paint us as incompetent and under qualified "Diversity hires" or beneficiaries of Affirmative Action despite any evidence to the contrary.2. Attempt to paint us as overly aggressive/loud/angry, despite similar personality traits of non-Black professional women, and also at times despite provocation.3. Morally unworthy, hypersexual and promiscuous. Often even the mere act of sharing the same physical space with a male colleague is conflated to not only "prove" the existence of an inappropriate sexual relationship, but in some cases it is also used as malicious, retaliatory justification by other males in the workplace to subject Black women to harassment and/or retaliation for not being interested in their sexual advances.Shameful!https://lnkd.in/g_mpsVGb

Lots of food for thought in this perceptive post from Rob Campbell - goes to the heart of many of our current issues (environmental and social). Firstly, the tendency to assume humans can be separated from nature, from the environment we live in (first you separate, then you denigrate, then you exploit). That we can somehow despoil the environment we live in without consequence. The need to re-integrate with nature. Secondly, the ongoing erosion of common property/good and common rights in favour of individual property rights. https://lnkd.in/gXKK4Smb

In public-private partnerships, what value do governments bring to these relationships? According to Edelman's work, it certainly isn't credibility or trust. It is the ability to legally coerce behavior. As people become more aware of this, private stakeholders will have to weigh the benefits of coercion with its associated stigma.
